Katie The Glazy Potter was founded by artist and art teacher, Katherine "Katie" Nelson. Her small studio and business is based within her home in Buffalo, Minnesota, tucked away deep in the forest on a forty acre family homestead. Here she lives with her loving partner and other family members, two Pomeranians, and a menagerie of other critters they've acquired over the years.

In the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Katie started doing pottery and sculpture as a way to stay busy and combat depression and anxiety brought on by the prolonged isolation. It has since sprouted into a little homegrown business that has lifted her up and carried her through the most challenging years of her life. Katie's work is heavily inspired by nature, animals and elements of the woodlands surrounding her studio. Growing up amongst the trees and wild things, she has always felt a strong connection to the land and wildlife that share her home. A theme that she hopes touches the hearts and souls of all who appreciate her creations.
